     Bob Weber on "Four Heroes of Liberty: William Hazlitt, H.L. Mencken, Beethoven, and Goya"
 

Bob believes that "While none of the four are noted mainly for their political thought, all four were, in their way, heroes of liberty. I will compare and contrast Hazlitt and Mencken -- known mostly as essayists, and literary and social critics who lived a century apart -- and Beethoven and Goya, two early 19th century contemporaries who revolutionized music and painting, respectively, and expressed their love of liberty through their art."
 

     About the Speaker:
 

Bob Weber is a longtime libertarian activist who has spoken often at the Karl Hess Club.  He is a member of the Judicial Committee of the Libertarian Party of California, and the LP nominee for California State Senate, District 26.
