... is scheduled as the guest speaker for the 188th meeting of the Karl Hess Club, to convene on February 15, 2010.

Howard Hinman on "Debt, Hard Currency, and Capital Formation in the Age of a Greater Depression"

Are we headed for a Greater Depression?  Is the sky falling?  What about debt and unfunded liabilities?  What about the rupture between Main Street and Wall Street?

Is hard currency safe, especially considering the recent discovery of "cored" gold bars?  Gold?  Silver?  Both?  Something else?  How important is physical possession and/or control?

Is China about to go bust?  How will one get the capital to build a space-faring culture?  Why is backyard gardening booming?  Why preparedness is more important than survival.

Howard Hinman examines these and related questions.
