... is scheduled as the guest speaker for the 204th meeting of the Karl Hess Club, to convene in June 20, 2011.

Terry Brussel, Greg Barnes, Rachel Hope on "Libertarian Relationships."

Robert Heinlein's The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress (sometimes referred to as the Libertarian Manifesto) contains a political philosophy of freedom along with ways to create freer, less orthodox relationships. From triads to multi-generational group marriages, Heinlein suggests ways to raise children with greater security and abundance than is possible in most two-person marriages, as well as how to provide the greatest joy for adults in such relationships.

All of Heinlein's books, from Time Enough for Love through the final To Sail Beyond the Sunset, have this relationship theme as an integral part of the story.

Heinlein's biography shows that he knew whereof he spoke, politically and regards to lifestyle.

This month's program -- our 17th anniversary meeting -- explores these themes, and explains how they can be applied practically.

     About the Speakers:

Terry is a libertarian who has been educating her community about multiply committed relationships for nearly 40 years -- all her adult life. Greg is her hand-fasted partner. Rachel is member of their family-by-choice -- water brothers ala Heinlein's Stranger in a Strange Land.

Terry has addressed the club on several occasions in the past, and has contributed many resources and opportunities for involvement to our group.
