...are scheduled as guest speakers for the 232nd meeting of the Karl Hess Club, to convene on August 15, 2013.

Terry Brussel & Paul Gibbons on "A Course in Moral Philosophy."

According to Robert Heinlein's biographer, Bill Patterson, Heinlein said if you did not understand how Starship Troopers and Stranger in a Stranger Land tell the same story, then you missed the whole point of what he had to say.

How does Moon is a Harsh Mistress and the Libertarian philosophy fit into all this?

Terry and Paul will discuss this topic, and then engage in character improvisation to develop their theme with the assistance of our in-house drama troupe.

As we have done in the past, we will invite these characters to interact with one another. Michael Valentine Smith (from Stranger in a Strange Land), will converse with Professor De La Paz, Wyoh and Colonel Dubois from Starship Troopers.

Terry will become Wyoh. Paul will inhabit Michael Valentine Smith. Bill Patterson will be Colonel Dubois. John DeChancie will once again play Professor De La Paz.

What new insights from Heinlein's universe will they bring to us?

About Terry Brussel, Paul Gibbons & John DeChancie:

Terry and Paul have each, separately and together, presented programs to the KHC over a span of many seasons. Our other performers have likewise given talks and engaged in our improv performances in the last several years.

John DeChancie has previously played Professor De La Paz, in the stead of the late Steve Reed, who first interpreted the character for us.
