About Edward
Bowers:
Edward Bowers has called himself a
libertarian since 1980, when his father ran against Leon Panetta and
garnered the usual Libertarian 3%.
Ed participated in his first LP convention
in 1994, about a month after joining the LP. It's the only LP
convention he's attended without delegate status. He has been a
delegate to National LP conventions since 1996.
In 2002, after conversing with Michael
Everling at a Sundowners supper club at the Crown City Brewery, Ed
became Chair of the San Fernando Valley LP. He's had the job (now
regional rep) ever since.
In 2003, Ed began submitting Letters to
the Editor, which have been published in the
Los Angeles Times, Daily News, and L.A. Weekly.
His last LTE was in the L.A. Times in June 2010, where he decried the
disenfranchising aspects of the just-passed Prop 14.
Ed is a regular contributor to state and
local party newsletters, and compiled a collection on the 2003 Recall
of Governor Gray Davis, called the Recallist Papers.
